You’ve just sent a support email or have closed a sale and want to give your customer the chance to promote you to their Twitter network.
Use this string of HTML code (customized to your situation) to make it easy for people to promote your website.
How to create a Tweet-out link
Here is the code:
http://twitter.com/share?url=http://wptribe.net/&text=Need help with WordPress? These guys just helped me out. Have a look! &via=tribewp
There’s 3 parts to this that you need to change:
- The URL that you want to have them share. It might be your home page, or a specific page on your site.
- The message in the Tweet, and
- The Reply account which should be just your username. For us it’s “tribewp”.
Now you need to use that code as the URL link in your emails or web pages.
In the WordPress editor highlight some text, click the Insert/Edit Link button then paste in this code as your link.
Found this article useful? Share with your Twitter network.
Now simply use that modified URL as a link that you can add to an image or text or in your email client or website pages.
As far as our brief research could tell there is no comparable method for Farcebook. But perhaps someone with more geek points could correct us on that!
