Getting the platform for your web activities stable, gives you confidence and allows you to get things done smoothly when an idea strikes.
Your browser is a key part of that platform.
Here we focus on getting a fresh download of the free browser for Mac and PC, Firefox, setup for WordPress.
Setting up Firefox for WordPress
Security Note: When this application wants to update allow it to do so. Firefox is one of the most safe and secure browsers and is far better than Internet Explorer (for Windows).
2. Install the Secure Login add-on for Firefox.
This is only something you should do on a private computer but it does give you the ability to login to your WordPress site without having to look for passwords.
Click allow to install the addon then quit and relaunch Firefox to make it active.
It will place a lock icon in your toolbar that will become golden when you have stored login details.
One click of a button and you’re in!
3. Find your login details for WordPress.
You should have already saved them in your Links and Passwords Template.
They should look something like this:
4.Login to WordPress.
Click on the Admin URL. This will bring you to your WordPress login screen:
Enter your username and password and press Log In.
5. Allow Firefox to remember the password.
Donʼt allow this if you are on a public computer that other people have access to!
You’re then redirected to the WordPress dashboard and we’re ready to start publishing!
6. Organize your bookmarks for quick access
Now that we’ve stored our login details and logged in to the WordPress dashboard, we need to setup our bookmarks so that when we want to get into our website we just need to click once.
In Firefox this can be as easy as a drag and drop operation on to the bookmarks toolbar.
I personally find creating a folder is more convenient so that all my links for a web project are in one place.
Now you’ll never go searching for a password or a link ever again. One click and we’re in, freeing us up to get on with blogging or building our business.
